Course
750m Open Water Wave Start Swim
The sprint race begins with a wave start (not a mass start) and one lap (750m) swim in Vachery Pond. Surrounded by woods, Vachery Pond is one of Surrey’s best kept secrets. A 12th century private spring fed lake almost 900m long and covering over 50 acres.
Athletes exit the water and run to the transition area where they change from swimmer to Mountain Biker.
15km Mountain Bike
The sprint race comprises one x 15 km laps of woodland single-track, country trails and fast open off-road paths within the Vachery Estate.
Competitors will love testing their mountain bike handling skills and fitness racing on our lap course originally designed by eight times Xterra World Tour round winning professional triathlete Sam Gardner. Sam has designed a route that encourages racing; he was determined to make sure his course design wasn’t a test of a racer’s hard-core mountain bike technical riding skills or insanity, with huge jumps and scary drop-offs. After all, it is a triathlon!

5km Trail Run
The one lap run route is on tracks, trails and paths including The Downs Link; a disused railway line forming part of the 37 miles (59km) long-distance path linking St Martha’s Hill, near Guildford, to near Shoreham on the south coast.

There’ll be toilets, hot showers, marquee, some stands and vendors, and other event village attractions. Fresh drinking water will be available on site. A bike wash area will be available.
