XTERRA is open to everyone, it doesn’t matter whether you are an age group athlete chasing one of the 40 qualifying spots for the XTERRA Maui World Championships, European Tour Series ranking points or a pro racing for a share of the prize purse or you’re simply entering your first triathlon on your own or with friends as part of a team in a relay.
A relay team comprises two or three members each completing one or more discipline (a swim, bike or run) only
Prizes awarded to male and female individual age group winners and relay categories male female, senior, vet and mixed teams.
All entrants receive a commemorative T-Shirt and every finisher receives a medal.
1500m Open Water Wave Start Swim
The XTERRA England Championship begins with a deep water wave start one lap (1500m) swim in Vachery Pond. Surrounded by woods, Vachery Pond is one of Surrey’s best kept secrets. A 12th century private spring fed lake almost 900m long and covering over 50 acres.
30km Mountain Bike
The XTERRA England Championship race comprises two x 15 km laps of woodland single-track, country trails and fast open off-road paths within the Vachery Estate
XTERRA competitors will love testing their mountain bike handling skills and fitness racing on our lap course originally designed by eight times Xterra World Tour round winning professional triathlete Sam Gardner. Sam has designed a route that encourages racing; he was determined to make sure his course design wasn’t a test of a racer’s hard-core mountain bike technical riding skills or insanity, with huge jumps and scary drop-offs. After all, it is a triathlon!
10km Trail Run
The run will test all aspects of fitness. The route is two x 5km laps on woodland track, bridleways, paths and open fields.
There’ll be plenty of toilets, hot showers, a marquee with a restaurant serving fresh food, some stands and vendors, and other event village attractions. Fresh drinking water will be available. A bike wash area will be available.
Competitors must be 17 years of age or older to compete in the XTERRA England Championship individual and relay races
